Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between BJ Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borislav Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andrews comes into the arena with Inflikted blaring out of the sound system. Volkov has chosen Mazzy Starr- Into Dust as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, BJ Andrews! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Borislav Volkov! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Volkov gets tackled into the cage by Andrews. Andrews maintains the clinch. Volkov misses with a body punch.
Volkov gets through Andrews's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Andrews gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Volkov regains guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Andrews trying to control the position from guard on top but Volkov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Volkov preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Andrews pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Volkov is keeping the position for now. Andrews working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Andrews trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Andrews trying to control the position from guard on top but Volkov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Andrews drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Andrews jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Andrews trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Andrews slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Andrews looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Andrews advances to mount. Andrews landing strikes, looking to finish!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Andrews can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Volkov is looking to escape. Andrews with good strikes from the mount here! Andrews is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Volkov to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Volkov shrugs it off. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Andrews has hold of Volkov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Volkov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Andrews is looking to work his way around to Volkov's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Volkov is desperately trying to improve his position but Andrews has a good base and remains in mount. Andrews is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Volkov is surviving well by controlling Andrews's body position as best he can. Andrews jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Volkov manages to avoid the submission attempt. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. An elbow from Andrews crashes against the mat.
Andrews wants to control but Volkov is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Andrews tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Andrews works to advance to full mount. Volkov defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Andrews controlling his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Volkov is looking to get to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
BJ Andrews dominated that round. That's time! Andrews's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Andrews shoots for a double leg takedown but Volkov sprawls well. He's pushed Andrews's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Andrews throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Volkov's waist but Volkov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Andrews off to one side. Volkov takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Volkov fails in his attempt to clinch. Andrews fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Andrews shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Volkov defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Andrews. That's going to take a lot out of him. Volkov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Andrews fails with a takedown attempt. Andrews shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Volkov sprawls well. Volkov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Andrews gets slowly back to his feet. Andrews avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Andrews closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Andrews is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Volkov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Andrews tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Andrews tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Andrews has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Andrews looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Andrews tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Andrews is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Volkov is trying to escape and Andrews transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Volkov is forced to tap! Nice work there by Andrews! Very nice indeed!
