Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roderick Stevenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mason Dixon!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dixon shoots for a double leg takedown but Stevenson sprawls well. He's pushed Dixon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mason Dixon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dixon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stevenson as he avoids it easily.
Dixon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stevenson sprawls well. Stevenson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dixon gets slowly back to his feet.
Roderick Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mason Dixon.
Dixon shoots in but no luck this time.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stevenson.
Stevenson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dixon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Stevenson somewhat.
Stevenson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stevenson scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Dixon.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dixon tries for a kimura but Stevenson is defending well.

Dixon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dixon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dixon content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
An elbow from Dixon crashes against the mat.

Dixon is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stevenson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Stevenson parries the strikes from Dixon easily there. Dixon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stevenson to escape.

Dixon controlling from side mount.

Dixon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Dixon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Stevenson, who protects the arm well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dixon has hold of Stevenson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Stevenson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Dixon cranks the arm and Stevenson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Stevenson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Mason Dixon!
