Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus McBorin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rejinaldo Silveira!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silveira shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and McBorin counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
McBorin stays in close to Silveira's body and controls the position.
McBorin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Marcus McBorin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Silveira has his takedown stuffed

and McBorin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silveira tries to regain full guard. Instead though, McBorin has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silveira can do anything to dispel that myth.
Silveira tries to reverse the position but McBorin maintains control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Marcus McBorin just wasn't active enough.
McBorin tries to close the distance and clinch but Silveira swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

so McBorin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Silveira changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McBorin tries to avoid it but Silveira manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McBorin to the ground. McBorin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
