Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michail Bugaev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Garland Oars! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oars gets the takedown into side control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Oars goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Bugaev rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Oars's guard! Nice work there by Bugaev! Oars has an active guard here but Bugaev has managed to pass into half guard.
Bugaev moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Oars. Oars trying his best to control but Bugaev has mounted him. Oars is wriggling around trying to escape.
Oars is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bugaev stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Bugaev throws a shot from downtown. Oars moves away and avoids it. Bugaev throws a series of punches but Oars avoids them all with ease. Bugaev throws a lazy right hand but Oars sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Oars closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Oars fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bugaev on the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oars defending well as Bugaev loads up on a big left hand. Oars misses with a leg kick. Bugaev swats away the attempt to clinch by Oars. Bugaev missing with a left hand there. Oars was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Bugaev misses with a few strikes there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Oars avoids a punch combination nicely.
Michail Bugaev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oars throws an overhand right that lands on Bugaev's shoulder, as Bugaev tries to avoid the shot. Bugaev gets caught flat footed, as Oars shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Oars with a flurry of punches that miss. Bugaev uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Oars defending well as Bugaev loads up on a big left hand. Oars wants to clinch. Michail Bugaev is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Oars is defended easily by Bugaev. Bugaev falls off balance throwing a combination
and Oars holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Oars has a couple of punches blocked by Bugaev.
Bugaev is trying to break free. Bugaev blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Bugaev drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Oars gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bugaev is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Oars's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Oars has clasped his hands together around Bugaev's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Bugaev is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oars in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Oars goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bugaev has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Oars but great work by Bugaev. Oars is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Bugaev knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Oars on the ground. Oars tries to roll over but Bugaev keeps him under control. Oars trying to control but Bugaev postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Oars is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bugaev pulls his head out easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Oars wants to improve his position but Bugaev is controlling well.

Garland Oars dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bugaev is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Oars. Bugaev scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Oars closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bugaev circles away. Oars takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Oars slips a straight right by Bugaev. The fight stays on the outside here - Oars looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Bugaev throws a big shot that misses. Bugaev moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Oars takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Oars is rocked! Bugaev cracks Oars with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Oars looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Bugaev finish him?
Oars is still on wobbly legs! Can Bugaev finish him? Bugaev connects with a body shot that sends Oars's belly button to the back. Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Bugaev engages and cracks Oars with a massive lead left hook - Oars tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Bugaev is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Michail Bugaev! Michail Bugaev decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
