PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Young Banana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sangre Sani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Young Banana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sangre Sani!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sani jabs Banana to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sani.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sani, as that shot connected.
Sani rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Banana moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Good exchange - Sani coming out on top.
Sani throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Sani has Banana up against the cage in a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sani has had enough of the clinch but Banana keeps him there for the moment.

Sani breaks from the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sani swats away the attempt to clinch by Banana.
Banana looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Sani throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Banana decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sani's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Banana drops back looking for a leg! Sani is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sani manages to kick Banana off! Banana jumps back into Sani's guard.
Banana trying to control but Sani is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sani wants to stand up but Banana is controlling him.
Banana tries to free his leg and advance position but Sani is retaining full guard.
Banana pushes down on Sani's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Banana is trying to work for a kimura but Sani is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Banana not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Banana trying to control from half guard but Sani is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Banana is looking for a kimura here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Sani has one foot on Banana's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Banana takes one on the button.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sloppy strikes from Sani. Those never looked like landing.
Sani tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sangre Sani dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Banana takes the fight into the clinch.
Banana has Sani pressed against the cage, preventing Sani from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Banana wants to take the fight to the mat but Sani manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Banana is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Sani's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A combination from Sani does no damage.
Banana takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Sani lands a nice hook to Banana's body. Banana takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Sani tries to bum rush Banana with a series of wild strikes but Banana uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sani pushes Banana up against the cage in a clinch.
Sani wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Banana has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Sani is trying to keep an underhook but Banana manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Banana looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Banana stops Sani from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Banana wants to work for an arm triangle but Sani is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Banana trying to control from Sani's half guard. Sani has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Sani is looking to stand back up but Banana counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Sani.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Banana is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Sani is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Young Banana!
Young Banana spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
