Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Balls Wall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasha Lakovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Balls Wall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sasha Lakovic! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wall shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wall showed some decent athleticism there. Lakovic wants to improve his position but Wall is controlling well.
Lakovic won't allow Wall to pass to mount. Lakovic is looking to improve his position.
Lakovic is not content to let Wall control the position. Wall wants to stand up but Lakovic is controlling the position.
Wall not landing any meaningful shots this time. Lakovic is trying to control but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wall throws a right and a left that Lakovic avoids nicely. Nice sprawl there from Lakovic as Wall shoots in. Wall looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Lakovic moves out of range of the body kick from Wall.
Lakovic throws a body kick the misses and Wall counters by moving into the clinch. Wall stalling against the cage.
Lakovic escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wall walks forward, straight into a front kick from Lakovic. Lakovic misses with a takedown and Wall counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lakovic! Lakovic keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Lakovic tries to hold on but Wall postures up. Lakovic is in all sorts of trouble here.
Wall can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lakovic is looking to escape.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lakovic can do anything to dispel that myth. Wall could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Lakovic is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Wall misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lakovic tries to reverse the position but Wall maintains control. Lakovic manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes. Wall is tying to control. Lakovic wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wall doesn't manage to clinch there - Lakovic circles away.
Wall with a lazy takedown attempt and Lakovic makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Wall really felt that one! Wall is breathing heavily. Wall takes a kick to the side of the head. Lakovic stuffs the takedown attempt from Wall. Wall gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Balls Wall. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lakovic lands a jab-cross combination. Lakovic connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Wall momentarily.
Lakovic looks to score with a jab to the body but Wall is just out of range. Lakovic gets a takedown into half guard. Wall won't allow Lakovic to pass to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lakovic prevents Wall from improving his position. Lakovic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lakovic is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Wall has managed to free his arm - good work. Lakovic lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Lakovic lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. A close round but Sasha Lakovic will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A combination from Wall does no damage. Wall with a poor takedown and Lakovic counters with an outside leg kick.
Wall tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lakovic swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lakovic circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lakovic lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Wall throws a lazy head kick and Lakovic holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Lakovic prevents a takedown attempt there.
Wall has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lakovic avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Balls Wall. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wall is trying to maintain a safe position but Lakovic gets an underhook and turns Wall into the cage. Lakovic breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lakovic scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Wall struggling a bit here. Lakovic moves into full mount! Lakovic is in the full mount, landing strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lakovic controlling the pace for now. Wall tries to get back to half guard but can't. Lakovic in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Lakovic is working for a guillotine from mount but Wall frees his head quite easily.
Lakovic lands a nice shot to the head. Lakovic unloading with bombs! Lakovic trying to control but Wall is having none of it. Wall wants to control but Lakovic is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lakovic scoring with strikes but Wall is staying in there. Lakovic is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Wall can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Lakovic has control of Wall's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Wall regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Lakovic with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Lakovic tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Wall might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Wall wants to control but Lakovic is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lakovic landing strikes, looking to finish! Lakovic working away from the top, dropping strikes. Lakovic has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Wall's face.
Lakovic scoring with strikes but Wall is staying in there. Lakovic scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Lakovic goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Wall is on top in guard.

Lakovic wants to hit a switch here but Wall passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Lakovic there! Wall misses with a head shot. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wall prevents Lakovic from getting the reversal. Wall tries to control but Lakovic wriggling away. Lakovic wants to hold on but Wall pushes him away. Lakovic is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sasha Lakovic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Wall gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Lakovic pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wall is keeping the position for now. Wall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lakovic postures up in Wall's guard and throws a big left but Wall blocks it. Wall working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lakovic. Lakovic wants to control from the top but Wall keeps moving. Lakovic must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lakovic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sasha Lakovic has got the better of the ground game so far. Lakovic postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lakovic stuffs the takedown attempt from Wall. Wall gets slowly back to his feet. Lakovic closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Wall is trying to stand.
Lakovic thows a huge punch but Wall dodges it nicely.
Wall is trying to maintain the position but Lakovic is very close to passing his half guard. Lakovic prevents Wall from improving his position. Wall trying to hold on to Lakovic's head to control him but Lakovic postures up.
Wall is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lakovic is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Lakovic is looking to stall here but Wall recovers full guard. Wall tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A slapping leg kick lands for Lakovic.
Wall throws a lazy uppercut
and Lakovic counters with a low kick, right behind Wall 's knee. Wall has a takedown stuffed. Nice body kick there by Lakovic. Wall misses with a takedown attempt - Lakovic sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Balls Wall. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lakovic with a poor takedown and Wall counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Lakovic is lucky that one didn't land flush. Wall throws a series of punches but Lakovic avoids them all with ease. Wall feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Lakovic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wall doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wall manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lakovic throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Wall escapes and throws Lakovic's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wall scoring with punches and elbows. Lakovic is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Lakovic can't do much from the bottom here. Wall wants to stand but Lakovic is controlling his arm. Lakovic manages to get back to half guard. Lakovic is trying to maintain the position but Wall is very close to passing his half guard. Lakovic moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lakovic wants to sweep but no luck. Lakovic preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Lakovic manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Wall is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Wall tries to hold on but Lakovic pushes him away. Wall regains half guard. Wall has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lakovic is working away from the top position though. Lakovic wants to stand up but Wall has a hold of him and won't allow it. Balls Wall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lakovic is tying to control. Wall wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Sasha Lakovic. Well Lakovic has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
