The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slodzinski scores with a jab to the jaw.

Woensdag feints and as Slodzinski raises his hands in defense, Woensdag changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Woensdag wants to control from the top but Slodzinski keeps moving.

Jacob Woensdag has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Woensdag shoots in for a takedown but Slodzinski shows good takedown defense.

Slodzinski shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slodzinski works his way into side control.

Slodzinski thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Woensdag is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Slodzinski tries for a kimura but Woensdag is defending well.
Woensdag is not content to let Slodzinski control the position.

Slodzinski is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Woensdag is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Woensdag pushes Slodzinski away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Slodzinski gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Slodzinski stands up.
Slodzinski jabs Woensdag right on the nose. Woensdag blinks but takes it well.
Woensdag could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Woensdag has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Slodzinski to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Woensdag is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Slodzinski pulls down on the head and he's put Woensdag to sleep! This one is all over!
