Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gustavo Moraes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 40 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, King Penguin!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Penguin. Those never looked like landing.
Penguin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Moraes shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Moraes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Gustavo Moraes wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Moraes shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Moraes showed some decent athleticism there.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Penguin has eaten all the pies!

Moraes's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We're going to have a standup here because Gustavo Moraes wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Penguin throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Moraes shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Penguin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Moraes is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Penguin wants to stand and escape but Moraes is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Gustavo Moraes.

Moraes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Moraes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Penguin looks gassed!
Moraes controls the position.

Moraes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Moraes has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Penguin is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Moraes yanks on the arm and Penguin is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Moraes.
