Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Casey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Braddock Hemingway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Casey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Braddock Hemingway!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Casey tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hemingway swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hemingway doesn't manage to clinch there - Casey circles away.
Hemingway wants to clinch but Casey slips to the side

and Casey counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hemingway looking to hit a scissor sweep but Casey is one step ahead there.
Casey postures up.

Hemingway wants to improve his position but instead Casey has moved into half guard.
Casey really is a fat lump.
Hemingway is refusing to be controlled, as Casey sits in half guard.
Hemingway has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Casey is working away from the top position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Hemingway stuffs the takedown.
Casey clinches but Hemingway breaks the clinch

and Hemingway counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hemingway.

Hemingway wants to stand and escape but instead Casey has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Casey is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Casey trying to control the position from guard on top but Hemingway is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Casey has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Casey avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hemingway has his takedown stuffed

and Casey counters with a takedown into side control.
Hemingway is being controlled here.
Hemingway trying to control but Casey flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Casey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hemingway on the ground.
Hemingway looks gassed!
Hemingway rolls, trying to escape but Casey keeps control of the position.
Casey doesn't have the hooks in and Hemingway manages to turn into his guard.
Casey has a closed guard, preventing Hemingway from standing up.
Hemingway trying to control but Casey is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Casey dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Casey throws a head kick that misses.
Donk. Hemingway catches Casey right on the button with a cross.
Hemingway moves in looking to clinch but Casey pushes him off.
Casey wants to clinch.

Casey closes the distance and clinches.
Hemingway wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Casey prevents Hemingway from breaking the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hemingway is trying to break the clinch but Casey has him pressed against the cage.

Casey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Casey wants to clinch

and Hemingway holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Casey takes the fight into the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Casey.
Hemingway is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Casey gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Casey prevents Hemingway from breaking the clinch.
Hemingway is breathing heavily.
Hemingway has a couple of punches blocked by Casey.
Casey stops a takedown attempt from Hemingway.
Casey tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hemingway smiles and moves away.

and Hemingway moves into the clinch.
Hemingway has had enough of the clinch but Casey keeps him there for the moment.
Hemingway prevents the takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hemingway with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Casey on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Hemingway takes a knee right on the jaw!


It looks like Braddock Hemingway has been cut.
Casey tries to pull guard but Hemingway holds him up against the cage and eventually Casey drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Casey. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hemingway fails to pull guard.
Casey is pressed up against the cage. Hemingway has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Casey down to the mat. Casey avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Good leg kick by Casey there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Casey wants to clinch up but Hemingway keeps it at a distance.

Casey closes the distance but Hemingway moves to the side

and Hemingway counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Casey keeping moving, preventing Hemingway from controlling successfully.
Hemingway controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Hemingway trying to control the position from guard on top but Casey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Casey throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Hemingway would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Hemingway circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hemingway tries to grapple but his opponent circles

so Casey counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Casey stops Hemingway from standing up.
Hemingway trying to keep a closed guard but Casey is proving a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Casey dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Braddock Hemingway's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Hemingway forces Casey back against the cage and clinches.
Casey is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Hemingway pulls guard effortlessly.
Casey postures up.
Casey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hemingway is looking to sweep but instead, Casey has passed into half guard.
Hemingway tries to get to full guard but Casey has control of the leg.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hemingway has hold of Casey's hands but Casey slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Hemingway gets full guard.
Hemingway lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Casey!
Hemingway can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Casey is looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hemingway thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Casey is squirming around, avoiding Hemingway's attempts to control the action.
Hemingway pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Casey blocking the ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hemingway tries to control but Casey wriggling away.
Casey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hemingway lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Hemingway trying to control but Casey is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Casey is looking to get to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Braddock Hemingway comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Casey has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
