Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Austin McCoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Optimus Prime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCoy comes to the cage accompanied by Voices. Optimus Prime has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Austin McCoy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Optimus Prime! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCoy tries for a takedown but Prime circles away easily and Prime moves into the clinch. McCoy has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Prime jumps into guard, dragging McCoy to the mat.
Prime looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
McCoy drops back looking for a leg! Prime is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Prime manages to kick McCoy off! McCoy jumps back into Prime's guard. McCoy postures up.
McCoy tries to stand but Prime is controlling from the bottom. McCoy wants to control from the top but Prime keeps moving. McCoy throwing strikes from guard but Prime blocks nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCoy preventing the sweep. McCoy wants to stand but Prime has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Prime wants to stand up but McCoy is controlling him. Prime wants to control but McCoy passes easily into half guard.
McCoy is working for a kimura here but Prime manages to reverse the position and he's now in McCoy's guard.
McCoy looking for a guillotine here but Prime defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Prime slips nicely into half guard. McCoy is staying active underneath Prime, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Prime working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Prime gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Prime swats away the attempt to clinch by McCoy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCoy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Prime defends it nicely. Prime changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McCoy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Prime working the ground and pound from side control. McCoy can't do much from the bottom here. Prime trying to control the position but McCoy is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Prime working away.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Austin McCoy wasn't doing enough on the ground. Prime slips a jab and a cross from McCoy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Prime throws a head kick that misses. Prime shoots in and bounces McCoy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Optimus Prime dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
McCoy shoots in and drives through. Prime sprawls well. Prime closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McCoy to the mat! McCoy manages to get full guard. McCoy will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Prime must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Prime looking to pass the guard. McCoy looking for a sweep. Not yet McCoy, not yet. Prime gets to his feet - McCoy follows without any prompting. McCoy doesn't succeed with the takedown and Prime moves into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Prime has clasped his hands together around McCoy's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. McCoy manages to get back to half guard. Prime is breathing heavily. McCoy trying to hold on to Prime's head to control him but Prime postures up.
McCoy looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McCoy trying to control but Prime postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Prime seems to be working for a kimura but McCoy defends the submission attempt. Prime tries to pass to full mount but McCoy defends it. Prime seems to be looking for submissions.
McCoy moves into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCoy working for submissions but it's allowed Prime to get to half guard.
McCoy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Prime performing his best blanket impression for a moment. McCoy is pressing down on Prime's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

McCoy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Prime defends well. McCoy throws a couple of heel strikes.

That was a close second round but I would say that Austin McCoy will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
McCoy gets a takedown into half guard. McCoy seems to be working for a kimura but Prime defends the submission attempt. McCoy tries to pass the half guard into mount. Prime knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Prime is looking to control McCoy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Prime avoid being mounted? Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McCoy in particular looking to stall. Prime is trying to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Prime has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McCoy is working away from the top position though. Nice strikes from McCoy there. McCoy is figuring out what he wants to do next. McCoy has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. McCoy wants to clinch up but Prime keeps it at a distance. McCoy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Prime swats him away and circles back towards the center. McCoy connects with a nice looking jab.
Prime should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Prime shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Prime showed some decent athleticism there. Prime really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McCoy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Prime takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. McCoy is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Prime scores with a couple of nice shots. McCoy looking for submissions from an awkward position here. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McCoy defends it well. Prime wants to work for an arm triangle but McCoy is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Prime frees his head nicely. Oh but McCoy has switched to an armbar! Prime is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
