The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalypsi fails with a takedown attempt.
Pikkarainen looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Pikkarainen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pikkarainen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kalypsi.
Kalypsi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Pikkarainen lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Kalypsi misses with a takedown attempt - Pikkarainen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kalypsi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pikkarainen tries to avoid it but Kalypsi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pikkarainen to the ground. Pikkarainen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kalypsi stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Pikkarainen.
Pikkarainen connects with a solid leg kick.
Pekka Pikkarainen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kalypsi shoots in for a double leg but Pikkarainen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Pikkarainen stalks Kalypsi and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kalypsi's face. Kalypsi staggers backwards, shaken.
Aapo Kalypsi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kalypsi tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Pikkarainen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Pikkarainen moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Both fighters circling a little - Pikkarainen finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Kalypsi tries for a takedown but Pikkarainen circles away easily
and Pikkarainen counters with a thumping low kick.
Pikkarainen stuffs the takedown attempt from Kalypsi. Kalypsi gets slowly back to his feet.
Pikkarainen throws a one two combo.
Pikkarainen throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kalypsi's head.
Kalypsi shoots in for a takedown but Pikkarainen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

No luck for Kalypsi with that takedown attempt.
Kalypsi could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Pikkarainen bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kalypsi's head backwards.
Kalypsi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pikkarainen was covering up waiting for the punch and Kalypsi finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Pikkarainen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kalypsi is controlling him.
Kalypsi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Kalypsi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pikkarainen has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kalypsi in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Pikkarainen is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
