PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between British Bulldog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edward Lange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bulldog might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Brittania. Edward Lange will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lange fails with the takedown

and Bulldog counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Bulldog scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bulldog is looking to advance position but Lange won't allow it.
Lange is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bulldog landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Lange flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bulldog prevents Lange from improving his position.
Bulldog is taking a breather. Lange says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Lange tries to get to full guard but Bulldog has control of the leg.
Bulldog seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Bulldog shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lange manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Bulldog tries to free his leg and advance position but Lange is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lange throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Bulldog gets to his feet - Lange follows without any prompting.
Bulldog lands a head kick. Lange smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

and Lange counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Lange fails in his attempt to clinch.
No joy there for Bulldog, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Bulldog lands a high kick!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bulldog has taken the fight to the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Bulldog - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Lange tries for a takedown but Bulldog manages to get underhooks.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Lange is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Bulldog works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Bulldog slips nicely into half guard.
Bulldog is pressing down on Lange's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lange is holding on for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bulldog works his way into side control.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Lange tries for a takedown but Bulldog sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bulldog misses with a head kick.
Lange fails with the takedown.

Bulldog moves into the clinch.

Bulldog manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bulldog wants to sweep here but Lange controlling him for the moment.

Bulldog escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lange gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lange preventing the sweep.

Lange is looking to stand up but Bulldog won't let him.
British Bulldog overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lange is posturing up here but Bulldog has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Lange tries to roll out but it's too tight and Lange has to tap! Slick submission there by Bulldog!
