Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shatei Yoshida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian McGuire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brian McGuire told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shatei Yoshida! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brian McGuire! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yoshida swings for the body but McGuire moves out of range.
Yoshida shoots in looking for a takedown. McGuire tries to sprawl out of it but Yoshida keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McGuire manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Shatei Yoshida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McGuire shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Yoshida manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Yoshida wants to sweep but no luck. McGuire trying to control the position from guard on top but Yoshida is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yoshida not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yoshida looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Yoshida keeping full guard, as McGuire tries to pass. Yoshida keeping moving, preventing McGuire from controlling successfully. McGuire tries to free his leg and advance position but Yoshida is retaining full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. McGuire throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Yoshida tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McGuire is in Yoshida's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yoshida keeping full guard, as McGuire tries to pass. McGuire wants to control from the top but Yoshida keeps moving. Yoshida working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McGuire. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yoshida is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. McGuire trying to control the position from guard on top but Yoshida is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McGuire is posturing up here but Yoshida has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! McGuire tries to roll out but it's too tight and McGuire has to tap! Slick submission there by Yoshida!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Shatei Yoshida! Shatei Yoshida bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
