Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Nova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Melvin Manhoef (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nova gets the takedown into side control.
Nova controlling the position.

Nova cracks Manhoef with a big right hand but Manhoef just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Nova working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Manhoef takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nova doesn't manage to clinch there - Manhoef circles away.

Manhoef has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nova is proving hard to escape from.
Nova is looking for a triangle but Manhoef pushes his legs off easily.
Nova doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Manhoef stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Melvin Manhoef seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nova tries a head kick but it misses.
Manhoef throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nova.
Nova slips a jab and a cross from Manhoef.
Manhoef looks to land a body kick but Nova moved away.

Nova closes the distance and clinches up with Manhoef, looking for a takedown. Nova pushes Manhoef against the cage but Manhoef circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A thudding body kick lands there by Manhoef!
Manhoef throws a right hand that Nova ducks under and follows up with a left that Nova also avoids with ease.
Good leg kick by Manhoef there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Manhoef wants to clinch
and Nova counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nova throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Manhoef misses the shot to the body.
Manhoef is looking to score with low kicks.
Johnny Nova is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nova feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Manhoef's calf.
Nova looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Manhoef is in trouble now - Nova has advanced to mount!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Nova gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Oh Nova is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nova tries to get to full guard but Manhoef has control of the leg.
Nova is trying to control but Manhoef passes into side control!
Nova seems to have got his legs back now.

Nova struggling a bit here.

Nova trying to hold on to Manhoef's head to control him but Manhoef postures up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nova tries to reverse the position but Manhoef maintains control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Johnny Nova will probably get the nod.

Nova wants to control the pace but Manhoef is squirming around nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Manhoef is trying to stand up.
