Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Karel Gil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tham Boon Yodsuwan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gil might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Papa Roach - Last Resort. Yodsuwan has chosen LL Cool J - Mama' Said Knock You Out as his entrance music. Karel Gil had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Karel Gil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Tham Boon Yodsuwan! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gil looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Yodsuwan pushes Gil off and gets back to his feet. Gil changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Yodsuwan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The ground and pound from Gil seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Yodsuwan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gil asserts his dominance and retains side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gil is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Yodsuwan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Gil is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Yodsuwan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Gil tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yodsuwan wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Gil tries to score with some ground and pound. Yodsuwan controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Gil working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. An elbow from Gil crashes against the mat.
Gil has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Yodsuwan is pushing Gil's head away, looking to escape. Gil manages to hold on to the position though. Gil in side control, throwing shots but Yodsuwan defends. Yodsuwan wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Gil wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Yodsuwan, who protects the arm well. Gil swings around for an armbar but Yodsuwan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gil's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gil manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Yodsuwan in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gil with the ground and pound from mount.
It looks like Tham Boon Yodsuwan has been cut. Gil lands a heavy elbow. Gil working for a submission but Yodsuwan is keeping him at bay. Gil goes for an armbar but Yodsuwan turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Yodsuwan. Gil is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yodsuwan wanted to stand there but Gil had control of the position. Gil has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Gil wants to sweep but no luck.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gil is working hard here to advance position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Yodsuwan shoots in looking for a takedown. Gil tries to sprawl out of it but Yodsuwan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gil manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gil shoots in for a takedown but Yodsuwan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gil closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gil lands in his opponent's guard. Gil lands a couple of digs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Karel Gil dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tham Boon Yodsuwan's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Yodsuwan misses with a left hand and Gil counters with a shoot takedown. Yodsuwan fights it but they end up in guard. Gil works over Yodsuwan with some ground and pound from guard.
That has opened up Tham Boon Yodsuwan's cut even more. Gil prevents Yodsuwan from getting back to his feet. Yodsuwan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Gil postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Gil with a nice head shot there. Gil trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gil postures up and lands a big shot to Yodsuwan's brow. Karel Gil overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. This has been an exciting period of action! Gil working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Gil throws a big right hand that misses. Gil is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Gil throws an elbow that misses. Yodsuwan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gil's guard. Nice move by Yodsuwan!
That's one minute gone in the round. Yodsuwan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gil swivels though and keeps the full guard. Yodsuwan wants to stand but Gil is controlling his posture from full guard. Yodsuwan stopping the sweep attempt from Gil. Yodsuwan wants to stand but Gil is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yodsuwan is pushing down on Gil's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gil is fighting to maintain full guard but Yodsuwan has managed to sneak the leg through. Gil regains full guard. Nicely done. Gil looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Gil is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Yodsuwan preventing the sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gil has his hands on Yodsuwan's head, controlling the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Karel Gil just wasn't active enough. Yodsuwan rushes Gil and presses him up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yodsuwan wants a takedown but no success here.

Gil is trying hard to land a takedown here. Yodsuwan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Gil with a lazy takedown attempt and Yodsuwan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Yodsuwan is looking for a kimura here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gil trying to control from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gil has his hands clasped together around Yodsuwan's back. He's all about the action. Gil's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Gil. Gil is trying hard to land a takedown here. Yodsuwan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Gil shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yodsuwan but Yodsuwan pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Karel Gil. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gil shoots for a double leg takedown but Yodsuwan sprawls well. He's pushed Gil's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Good standup being displayed there by Yodsuwan as he connects with a hook. Yodsuwan throws a looping overhand right but Gil ducks down to avoid it. Gil doesn't succeed with the takedown and Yodsuwan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Yodsuwan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gil.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gil stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gil wants it to stay on the feet. Gil slips a straight right by Yodsuwan. Gil will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Gil fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yodsuwan avoids it really well and circles away. Yodsuwan slaps away a takedown attempt from Gil, before circling back to the center of the mat. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Gil throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yodsuwan's waist but Yodsuwan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gil off to one side. Gil shoots for a double leg takedown but Yodsuwan sprawls well. He's pushed Gil's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck for Yodsuwan with that takedown attempt. Karel Gil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gil misses with a takedown attempt and Yodsuwan counters with a lovely straight right hand! Gil stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gil wants it to stay on the feet. Nice sprawl there from Yodsuwan as Gil shoots in. Karel Gil is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gil has his takedown stuffed and Gil takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Gil fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yodsuwan avoids it really well and circles away. Gil shoots in and drives through. Yodsuwan sprawls well. Gil checks the leg kick nicely there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gil with a lazy takedown attempt and Yodsuwan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Yodsuwan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gil swats him away and circles back towards the center. Gil fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Yodsuwan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gil was well out of range. Poor timing from Yodsuwan. Gil gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Yodsuwan counters with a nice double leg into guard. Gil not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Yodsuwan won't allow Gil to sweep him here. Yodsuwan trying to control the position from guard on top but Gil is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yodsuwan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gil is proving hard to escape from.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gil is on top in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Yodsuwan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Gil in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Tham Boon Yodsuwan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gil is looking to work some ground and pound but Yodsuwan has wrist control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Yodsuwan wants to get back to his feet but Gil is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Gil drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Yodsuwan dives on top into guard. Yodsuwan throws an elbow that misses. Gil uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Yodsuwan's guard. Nice move by Gil!
And that's the end of the fight! Tham Boon Yodsuwan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gil has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
