4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Larry Williams! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams tries to clinch but Morello moves away and Morello counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Morello thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Williams wants to stand but Morello is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Morello drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Williams manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Morello has Williams in his guard. Williams is looking to stand up but Morello won't let him. Williams advances position into side control! Williams goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Morello has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Williams but great work by Morello.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morello landing strikes. Williams is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Morello wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Williams, who protects the arm well. Morello is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Williams knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Morello has hold of Williams's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Williams seems comfortable defending it but Morello has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Williams is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Williams is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Morello couldn't care less - he's delighted!
