Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Makunouchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez has chosen Eye of the tiger as his entrance music. Henry Alvarez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ippo Makunouchi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Henry Alvarez! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Makunouchi is defended easily by Alvarez. Alvarez looks to land a combination but Makunouchi avoids it well. Alvarez connects with a crisp jab. Alvarez lands with an uppercut that bounces Makunouchi off the cage and back into range. Henry Alvarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Alvarez is looking to slow Makunouchi down with leg kicks. Alvarez throws a series of punches but Makunouchi avoids them all with ease. Makunouchi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Makunouchi wants it to stay on the feet. Alvarez with a lazy takedown attempt and Makunouchi counters with a takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alvarez is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Makunouchi has just dragged him back down to the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Makunouchi taking a breather here. Alvarez is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Makunouchi asserts his dominance and retains side control. Alvarez looks gassed! Makunouchi is working to tighten is grip on Alvarez's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Alvarez has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Makunouchi is really squeezing tight and eventually Alvarez passes out! Makunouchi breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
