Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jordan Kovacs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Afro Jack!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack connects with a high kick.

Jack closes the distance and clinches.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Kovacs tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jack just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kovacs tries to pull guard but Jack forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Kovacs pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A jab from Kovacs misses.

Jack throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Kovacs stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Jack follows into mount!


Kovacs is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kovacs really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Oh Kovacs is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kovacs sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Jack controlling the action here.
Kovacs seems to have got his legs back now.
Jack tries to stand but can't do so whilst Kovacs controls his leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jack trying to mount his opponent but Kovacs defends it.
Jack missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Jack seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kovacs does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Jack not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Jack seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Jack is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Jack really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kovacs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jack in particular looking to stall.
Kovacs wants to improve his position but Jack is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kovacs manages to get to full guard.
Kovacs looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Jack is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Jack tries to free his leg and advance position but Kovacs is retaining full guard.

Kovacs looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Jack is defending well. Kovacs quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Jack has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Kovacs celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
