Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alpha Scorpii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Barker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alpha Scorpii!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Barker!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barker moves into the clinch successfully.
Scorpii looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Barker tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Barker tries to score a body lock takedown but Scorpii shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Barker drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Barker tries for a takedown but Scorpii manages to get underhooks.
Alpha Scorpii has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Barker.
Scorpii takes an elbow to the forehead.

Barker should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Scorpii wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Barker has him pressed against the cage.
Barker drops down looking for an ankle pick but Scorpii pulls his leg out and moves away.

Scorpii has taken the fight to the clinch.
Barker jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Scorpii walks away with a smile on his face. Barker gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Alpha Scorpii is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Barker fails with the takedown.
Scorpii lands a nice looking body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Scorpii connects with a looping right hand.
Barker walks into a stiff left hand from Scorpii.

Barker rushes Scorpii and presses him up against the cage.

Barker breaks the clinch.
Barker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Scorpii lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Barker tries to clinch up but Scorpii circles away and keeps his distance.
Barker shoots in looking for a takedown. Scorpii tries to sprawl out of it but Barker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Scorpii manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Barker is looking to clinch.

Barker dives in and grabs Scorpii's left leg, looking for a takedown. Scorpii pushes down on Barker's head and hops out.
Barker on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Barker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Scorpii clinches up against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Barker tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Scorpii just stands there and leans against the cage.
Scorpii is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alpha Scorpii will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Scorpii counters with a left and a right that stings Barker.
Andrew Barker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Scorpii connects with a good right hand that stumbles Barker. Barker circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Barker is defended easily by Scorpii.
Barker on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Scorpii fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Barker on the side of the head.
Barker looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Scorpii is fending him off so far but Barker persists. Nope, Scorpii circles away and we're back to standing.

Scorpii stuns Barker with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Scorpii scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Scorpii keeps the fight on the outside.
Barker throws a head kick that misses.
Scorpii uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Scorpii moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Barker throws a jab but it's blocked by Scorpii.
Andrew Barker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scorpii's corner calls for a 1-2. Scorpii obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Barker moves forwards but Scorpii connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Barker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Scorpii but Scorpii pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Scorpii counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Barker misses with a double jab
letting Scorpii counter with a right hand.

Scorpii forces Barker back against the cage and clinches.
Barker tries to pull guard but Scorpii holds him up against the cage and eventually Barker drops back down to his feet.

Scorpii lands with a straight right. Barker didn't see that one coming.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Scorpii catches Barker with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Barker shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Scorpii sprawls well. Scorpii wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Barker gets slowly back to his feet.
Scorpii blocks a head kick by Barker.
Scorpii getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Barker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Scorpii's waist but Scorpii gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barker off to one side.
Barker throws a sloppy body shot
and Scorpii counters with a left and a right that stings Barker.
Barker walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Scorpii keeps the fight on the outside.

Scorpii gets caught flat footed, as Barker shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Barker wants to control from the top but Scorpii keeps moving.
Barker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Scorpii's head.

Barker pushes down on Scorpii's leg and manages to get into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barker stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Scorpii to get to his feet.

Barker fails with the takedown.

Barker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Scorpii swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Scorpii lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Scorpii.
Barker shoots in for a double leg but Scorpii sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Scorpii throws a series of punches but Barker avoids them all with ease.
Andrew Barker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Barker tries to clinch but Scorpii moves away
and Scorpii counters with a left to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Andrew Barker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Scorpii has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
