Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ibe Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taisto Taivuttaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ibe Kong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Taisto Taivuttaja! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kong looks to land a combination but Taivuttaja avoids it well. Kong fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kong thows a left - swing and a miss! Taivuttaja fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kong sprawls well initially but Taivuttaja persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Taivuttaja is trying to control the action in half guard but Kong is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Well, if Taivuttaja is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kong is trying to stand.
Kong tries to roll over but Taivuttaja keeps him under control. Taivuttaja wants to free his trapped foot but Kong is holding on for dear life with his legs. Kong wants to improve his position but Taivuttaja is controlling well.
Taivuttaja trying to control the action but Kong is working from the bottom. Kong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Taivuttaja showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kong.
Kong fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kong tries to clinch but Taivuttaja moves out of range. Taivuttaja shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Taivuttaja was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Taivuttaja is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kong can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Taivuttaja controlling the pace for now. Taivuttaja trying to control but he's not successful this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kong bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Taivuttaja controls Kong momentarily but Kong frees himself. Taivuttaja looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kong is one step ahead there. Kong pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Taivuttaja is keeping the position for now. Taivuttaja had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kong is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Taivuttaja Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kong's back instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taivuttaja is hanging on to Kong's back as he tries to escape.
Taivuttaja tries to keep control of the position but Kong is staying busy. Taivuttaja looks gassed! Kong showing good submission defense here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Taivuttaja is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Kong knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Kong for a finish. Taivuttaja is trying to stick to Kong's back but Kong is turning into Taivuttaja. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Taivuttaja's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kong. Kong wanted to stand there but Taivuttaja had control of the position. Taivuttaja trying to keep a closed guard but Kong is proving a slippery customer.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Taivuttaja scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Taivuttaja scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Still in half guard, Taivuttaja seems content to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taivuttaja seems to be looking for submissions.
Kong wants to get back to full guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Taivuttaja in particular looking to stall. Taivuttaja is tying to control. Kong wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Taivuttaja tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kong knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Taivuttaja trying to control the action but Kong is working from the bottom. Kong is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Taivuttaja pulls his head out easily.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Taivuttaja looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Taivuttaja trying to control the position from guard on top but Kong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Taivuttaja avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Taivuttaja is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Taivuttaja pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kong is keeping the position for now. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kong is on top in guard.

Taivuttaja pulls Kong in close to his closed guard and prevents Kong from doing any damage or advancing position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taivuttaja is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Taivuttaja throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Taisto Taivuttaja dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Kong throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kong throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Taivuttaja sees it coming and avoids it easily. Taivuttaja shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Taivuttaja tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Taivuttaja jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kong manages to avoid the submission attempt. Kong is looking to reverse the position. A lull in the action here. Taivuttaja working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Kong manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kong is not content to let Taivuttaja control the position. Kong is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Taivuttaja wants to pass the guard but Kong is keeping the position. Taivuttaja trying to control the position from guard on top but Kong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Taivuttaja won't allow Kong to sweep him here. Taivuttaja slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Taivuttaja is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Taivuttaja has an Americana. Kong didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Taivuttaja is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Taivuttaja hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
