Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gibson Rickenbacker v.2 (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). 2 and Jason Lopez. Rickenbacker v.2's entrance music is Back Stabber!. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gibson Rickenbacker v.2! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Lopez! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rickenbacker v.2 does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Lopez rushes Rickenbacker v.2 and presses him up against the ropes. Rickenbacker v.2 breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rickenbacker v.2 dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lopez. That did some damage! Rickenbacker v.2 throws a half hearted mid kick. A head kick misses from Rickenbacker v.2. Lopez tries to keep at a distance but Rickenbacker v.2 has taken the fight into the clinch. Rickenbacker v.2 avoiding damage as Lopez throws knees to the body.
Lopez tries a knee to the head but Rickenbacker v.2 blocks it.
Rickenbacker v.2 is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Lopez blocks the elbow strike.
Rickenbacker v.2 manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Lopez tries to stand but Rickenbacker v.2 is controlling from the bottom. Rickenbacker v.2 is trying to control the position but Lopez postures up. Lopez trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rickenbacker v.2's guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lopez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Lopez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rickenbacker v.2 is proving hard to escape from. Lopez sitting in guard here, content to control.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jason Lopez wasn't active enough on the ground. Lopez steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Rickenbacker v.2. That one must have hurt. Lopez is looking to clinch. Rickenbacker v.2 lands a big head kick that sends Lopez tumbling to the mat! Rickenbacker v.2 takes a step backwards and waves Lopez back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Lopez is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rickenbacker v.2 throws a powerful right kick. Lopez tried to block low but the kick was high! Lopez was taken right off of his feet! Rickenbacker v.2 jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Gibson Rickenbacker v.2! Gibson Rickenbacker v.2 retains his welterweight title! Gibson Rickenbacker v.2 was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
