Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyler Durty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Davey Steeves!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy body kick from Steeves
enabling Durty to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Davey Steeves has been cut.
Steeves misses with a takedown attempt
and Durty counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Steeves misses with a kick to the body.
Durty bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Steeves's head backwards.
A big right from Durty misses.
Durty avoids the head kick by Steeves.
Davey Steeves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steeves has his takedown stuffed
and Steeves takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Steeves looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Tyler Durty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Davey Steeves.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Steeves dives in and grabs Durty's left leg, looking for a takedown. Durty pushes down on Steeves's head and hops out.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Durty keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Steeves bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Durty is being controlled here.
Durty is trying to improve his position.
Steeves in the domination position with Durty hanging on.
Durty is trying to buck Steeves off.
Steeves laying and praying for a moment but Durty takes advantage and regains half guard.
Durty has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Steeves. Oh but Durty has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Steeves goes limp - he's gone! Durty jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
