PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Keith Raw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Troy Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raw comes to the cage accompanied by DMX - X Gonna Give It To Ya. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Keith Raw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Troy Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson shoots for a takedown but Raw saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Raw thows a body shot but no joy.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jackson enables Raw to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jackson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Raw won't allow Jackson to get back to his feet.
Raw stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Raw working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Raw wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Jackson is looking to stand up but Raw isn't so interested in that idea.
Raw missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Jackson wants to get back to his feet but Raw is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Raw slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Raw working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Raw thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jackson keeping full guard, as Raw tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Raw is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jackson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jackson has escaped and now he's on top!
Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jackson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Raw has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jackson has managed to get both his arms back between Raw's legs - danger averted.
Raw trying to keep a closed guard but Jackson is proving a slippery customer.

Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Raw is retaining full guard.
Jackson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Raw looking to control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jackson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jackson wants it to stay on the feet.

Raw drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Jackson looks gassed!
Jackson is not content to let Raw control the position.
Jackson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Raw looks up at the clock and then as Jackson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Raw smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Raw tries for a kimura but Jackson is defending well.

Raw tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Raw has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Raw wants to control but Jackson is keeping him busy.
Raw tries to advance to mount but Jackson denies him.

Raw tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Raw has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Jackson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keith Raw dominated that round.
That's time! Raw's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Jackson stuffs the takedown attempt from Raw. Raw gets slowly back to his feet.
Raw tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Jackson instigates a clinch.
Jackson throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Raw has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jackson regains guard immediately.
Raw throws a big elbow that misses.
Jackson wants to stand up but Raw is controlling him.
Raw throws a big right hand that misses.
Raw loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Raw working some strikes from top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Keith Raw overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Raw in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Jackson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Raw throws a big right hand that misses.

Jackson is looking for a triangle but Raw pushes his legs off easily.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Raw keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jackson's head.
Raw lands a couple of elbows.
Raw lands a couple of decent looking shots.


Jackson is rocked!

Raw drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Raw jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Raw in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jackson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Raw is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Jackson is still in real trouble! Can Raw finish him?
Raw postures up and lands a big shot to Jackson's brow.
Raw lands a couple of elbows.

Raw drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Raw off! Raw jumps back into Jackson's guard.
Raw slips nicely into half guard.
Raw has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Raw is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Jackson is hurt! He's hurt bad - Raw fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Jackson from any more punishment! Congratulations to Raw! Great finish!
