Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rudolf Dart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jon Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rudolf Dart!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dart moves into range and clinches up with Mason.
Dart tries for a takedown. No joy.
Mason fails to pull guard.
Mason tries to pull guard but Dart forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Dart breaks the clinch.
Mason tries to clinch up but Dart circles away and keeps his distance.

Dart closes the distance and clinches.
Dart avoids a wild elbow strike from Mason.
Dart prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Mason. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dart is looking to take this one to the mat.
Mason doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Mason drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Dart escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Dart changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mason tries to avoid it but Dart manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mason to the ground. Mason escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mason stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mason wants it to stay on the feet.
Mason tries for a takedown but Dart sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dart closes the distance and clinches up with Mason, looking for a takedown. Dart pushes Mason against the cage but Mason circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mason lands a jab to the nose.
Mason stuffs the takedown.
Mason moves in looking to clinch but Dart pushes him off.
Mason fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dart dodges the punch combination from Mason.
Mason misses with a takedown attempt - Dart sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mason closes the distance but Dart moves to the side
and Dart counters with a big head kick but Mason shrugs it off.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mason.
Mason is breathing heavily.
Dart lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dart.
Mason fails with a takedown attempt.
Dart misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Dart moves into the clinch successfully.
Mason tries for a takedown. No joy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mason is trying to force a seperation but Dart has the dominant position.

Dart manages to break the clinch.
Mason shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dart as he avoids it easily.

Dart closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dart lands in his opponent's guard.
Mason avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Dart sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Mason is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dart is aware though and is defending well.

Dart prevents Mason from getting back to his feet.
Dart slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Dart forces his way into half guard.
Dart landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dart is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mason could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dart lands with a punch from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rudolf Dart dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Dart looks to land a body kick but Mason moved away.
Mason shoots for a takedown but Dart saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
No joy there for Mason, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Dart scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Mason is in trouble now - Dart has advanced to mount!
Dart working the ground and pound effectively.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dart cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Dart lands a nice shot to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dart controlling the position easily from mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mason is in a horrible position here. Dart smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dart has control of Mason's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mason regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Dart has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mason defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Dart.
Mason tries to lock up and control but Dart gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Dart is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Mason keeps the fight on the outside.
A telegraphed right hand from Dart misses the target.
Dart fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mason shoots in for a double leg but Dart sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Dart throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mason was covering up waiting for the punch and Dart finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mason is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Dart controlling from the top position.
Let's hope that Dart has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rudolf Dart.

Dart closes the distance and pushes Mason back into the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dart jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mason walks away with a smile on his face. Dart gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rudolf Dart showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Mason has his foot on Dart's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dart works his way back into a safe position though.

Dart is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Mason is working an open guard so Dart takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Dart shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Mason is trying to maintain the position but Dart is very close to passing his half guard.
Dart takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mason is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dart pulls his head out easily.
Dart looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mason is looking to improve his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rudolf Dart.
Dart swings for the body but Mason moves out of range.
Dart scores with a spinning back kick!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dart throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mason's waist but Mason gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dart off to one side.
Jon Mason has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rudolf Dart.

Dart throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dart throws a series of punches but Mason avoids them all with ease.
Mason tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mason shoots in but Dart avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mason shoots in for a double leg but Dart sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Dart takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Dart's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Dart is working for a guillotine from mount but Mason frees his head quite easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rudolf Dart comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dart has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
