Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pat Stropolis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Samuels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pat Stropolis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Samuels! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stropolis misses with a wild combination.
Stropolis throws a right hand that Samuels ducks under and follows up with a left that Samuels also avoids with ease. Stropolis gets a double leg takedown into Samuels's guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Samuels is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stropolis is aware though and is defending well. Samuels has his foot on Stropolis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stropolis works his way back into a safe position though. Stropolis preventing the sweep. Stropolis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Samuels is keeping the position for now. Stropolis looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Stropolis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Samuels on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Pat Stropolis just wasn't active enough. Stropolis instigates a clinch. Stropolis lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Samuels backwards. Stropolis manages to break the clinch.
Stropolis pushes Samuels up against the cage in a clinch. Stropolis managing to block the knees to the body from Samuels.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Stropolis. Samuels wants to stall.
Stropolis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stropolis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Stropolis darts in and clinches Samuels up against the cage. Stropolis breaks from the clinch.
Stropolis closes the distance and pushes Samuels back into the cage. Stropolis lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Stropolis wants the takedown. Samuels is fighting it off but Stropolis persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Samuels's guard against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Samuels can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Stropolis controls the pace. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Stropolis looking to sit in guard and control but Samuels gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Samuels is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Samuels looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Samuels slips nicely into half guard. Samuels is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stropolis is defending against the submission attempts here by Samuels.

Stropolis moves into the clinch. Stropolis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stropolis lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Nice takedown defense from Stropolis. No joy for Samuels on that attempt. Stropolis slaps away a takedown attempt from Samuels, before circling back to the center of the mat. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Samuels. That's one minute gone in the round. Samuels fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stropolis manages to avoid it. Stropolis throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Stropolis clinches. Stropolis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stropolis shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Pat Stropolis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No joy there for Stropolis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Samuels fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stropolis avoids it really well and circles away. Stropolis works Samuels's body with a nice hook. Stropolis moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Stropolis lands an overhand right.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stropolis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Stropolis with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Samuels trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Stropolis tries to work over Samuels's front leg with a kick but Samuels checks it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stropolis pushes Samuels up against the cage in a clinch. Stropolis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stropolis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Stropolis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Stropolis. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Samuels. Samuels is trying desperately to land a takedown but Stropolis is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Samuels. Stropolis moves into range and clinches up with Samuels. Stropolis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Pat Stropolis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Samuels looking to control but Stropolis passes into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Samuels wants to get back to full guard but Stropolis has mounted him! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Pat Stropolis. Stropolis moves into range and connects with a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stropolis scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Samuels doesn't seem bothered though. Stropolis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Stropolis throws a solid leg kick but Samuels takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Stropolis. Stropolis lands a glancing blow to the side of Samuels's head. The fight stays on the outside here - Samuels looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Stropolis looks to land a combination but Samuels avoids it well.
