Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mahatma Gandhi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cung Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cung Lee is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mahatma Gandhi !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cung Lee!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gandhi is defended easily by Lee.
Gandhi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lee moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gandhi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gandhi somewhat.
Gandhi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lee's waist but Lee gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gandhi off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mahatma Gandhi . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lee wants to break free but Gandhi has control.
Lee throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Gandhi blocks it with crossed arms.

Gandhi shoots for a double leg takedown but Lee sprawls well. He's pushed Gandhi 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Cung Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Lee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Lee drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gandhi pulls his leg out and moves away.

Lee is trying to maintain a safe position but Gandhi gets an underhook and turns Lee into the cage.
Gandhi is trying to drag Lee to the mat but Lee just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Gandhi jumps guard but Lee turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Gandhi wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lee has him pressed against the cage.
Gandhi tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lee smiles and moves away.
Gandhi shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense.

and Lee counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Nice sprawl there from Lee as Gandhi shoots in.

Lee lands an elbow inside that Gandhi shrugs off.

Lee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Lee makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Gandhi really felt that one!

and Lee counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch but Gandhi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Gandhi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gandhi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lee tries to avoid it but Gandhi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lee to the ground. Lee escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mahatma Gandhi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gandhi is breathing heavily.
Lee displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gandhi .

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gandhi shoots in looking for a takedown. Lee tries to sprawl out of it but Gandhi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lee throws a sloppy head kick and Gandhi moves out of range easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gandhi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cung Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Gandhi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gandhi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lee slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lee is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gandhi pulls his head out easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gandhi blocks the strikes from Lee.
Mahatma Gandhi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cung Lee is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Gandhi not landing any meaningful shots this time.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cung Lee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lee has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
