Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Seth Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cooper Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson has chosen bobaflex bury me with my guns on as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson dodges the punch combination from Hughes.

Thompson feints and as Hughes raises his hands in defense, Thompson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cooper Thompson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Hughes takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Thompson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Hughes feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Thompsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Thompson walks into a straight right hand from Hughes.
The crowd cheers as Hughes lands an impressive looking overhand right. Thompson doesn't seem phased though.
Hughes is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Hughes fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Thompson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hughes connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Thompson scrambles back to his feet.
Hughes dips to his left and cracks Thompson with an uppercut!
Thompson shoots in for a double leg but Hughes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Thompson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hughes connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Thompson's hands.
Thompson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hughes was covering up waiting for the punch and Thompson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hughes wants to sweep but no luck.

Thompson tries to lock up and control but Hughes gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Thompson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hughes kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Thompson wants to control but Hughes is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Hughes is looking to stall here but Thompson recovers full guard.
Thompson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
