Fisher comes into the arena with Anberlin - Feel Good Drag blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Santos!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fisher stuffs the takedown attempt from Santos. Santos gets slowly back to his feet.

and Fisher counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Santos!
Santos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Santos tries to lock up and control but Fisher gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Santos is looking to improve his position but Fisher isn't that keen on the idea.

Fisher takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The referee warns Santos that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Fisher lands a nice shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fisher takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Fisher has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fisher closes the distance and pushes Santos back into the cage.

Santos tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fisher smiles and moves away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Santos.
Santos is breathing heavily.

Santos tries to sprawl but Fisher drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Fisher keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fisher scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Fisher is taking a breather. Santos says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Fisher slips a nice elbow through Santos's hands, connecting with Santos's forehead.
Fisher seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Fisher stops Santos from getting back to his feet.
Fisher slows the pace down in half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Jerome Fisher has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Fisher throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Fisher cracks Santos with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.


Santos is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Santos is still on wobbly legs! Can Fisher finish him?

Fisher gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.

Fisher has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Santos regains guard immediately.

Fisher working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Fisher is stalling in the full guard.
Fisher lands a couple of digs.
Fisher loads up on a big left hand. Santos felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Fisher looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Santos can't hide his disappointment, as Fisher celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jerome Fisher!
