Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Junko Hatoru!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshi Tikinura!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tikinura checks a low kick from Hatoru.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tikinura.
Hatoru throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hatoru throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Tikinura fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hatoru fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hatoru misses with a leg kick.
A head kick misses from Hatoru.
Tikinura shoots in but no luck this time.
Hatoru tries to clinch but Tikinura moves out of range.
Tikinura fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hatoru avoids it really well and circles away.
Tikinura forces Hatoru back against the cage and clinches.
Hatoru escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hatoru does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tikinura.
Junko Hatoru has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshi Tikinura.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hatoru misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hatoru fails in his attempt to clinch.
Tikinura thuds his right hand into Hatoru's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Hatoru avoids the head kick by Tikinura.
Tikinura closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hatoru works his way to full guard. Good work.
Tikinura trying to control but Hatoru is working from the bottom.
Hatoru pulls Tikinura in close to his closed guard and prevents Tikinura from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hatoru throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Tikinura wants to pass the guard but Hatoru is keeping the position.
Tikinura trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Tikinura postures up in Hatoru's guard and throws a big left but Hatoru blocks it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tikinura stops Hatoru from standing up.
Tikinura wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Hatoru's closed guard. He's half up but Hatoru has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Hatoru pivots and extends the arm, Tikinura falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Hatoru! Well done that man!
