Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Meat Shield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Smoke the Fire as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Meat Shield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Smith!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shield ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Shield does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Shield misses with a wild body shot.
Smith goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Smith tries to clinch but Shield moves out of range.
Smith throws an overhand right that lands on Shield's shoulder, as Shield tries to avoid the shot.
Shield fails to land with a series of punches.
Smith tries to clinch but fails miserably
enabling Shield to counter with a crisp jab.
Smith fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shield throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Shield keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Smith throws a combination. Shield tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Shield keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Meat Shield has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Smith.
No joy there for Shield, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Smith scores with a head kick. Shield tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shield wants to clinch up but Smith keeps it at a distance.
Shield lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Shield.

No luck for Smith with that takedown attempt.

Shield lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smith circles away quickly and effectively.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shield looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Shield lands a nice looking body shot.
Shield is looking to wear down Smith with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Smith checks a low kick from Shield.
Smith misses with a body kick.
A right-left combo lands from Shield.
Smith takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Meat Shield is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Shield tries a head kick but it misses.
Shield fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shield throws a sloppy head kick and Smith moves out of range easily.
Shield tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Smith manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Shield takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Smith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Smith blocks a low kick nicely.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Shield works over Smith's head and body with a nice combination.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smith throws a push kick but Shield slaps the foot to one side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Meat Shield will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Shield misses with a combination
and Smith decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shield's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Smith seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Shield trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Smith stands up from Shield's guard - Smith perhaps looking for a knockout.
Shield is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Smith avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shield, pushing him back against the ropes.

Shield wants to take the fight to the mat but Smith manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Smith manages to break the clinch.
Smith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shield to the mat! Shield manages to get full guard.
Shield doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Shield looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smith is one step ahead there.
Smith looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Smith's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Johnny Smith was stalling too much, according to the referee.
A head kick misses from Smith.
Smith closes the distance and clinches up with Shield, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes Shield against the ropes but Shield circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shield thows a body shot but no joy.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shield looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Smith throws a nice looking combination but Shield bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Smith throws the kick towards the body but Shield avoids it.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Shield crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Smith - the referee stops the clock and Shield gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Smith. Shield manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Smith ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Smith no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Meat Shield has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Shield lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Shield lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shield as he avoids it easily.
Smith shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Shield eats them both and turns towards Smith to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Shield throws a head kick that misses.
Smith feints a jab promting Shield to slip. Smith then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Shield slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shield gets caught flat footed, as Smith shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Shield is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Shield stuffs the takedown attempt from Smith. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.

Shield motions for Smith to come forward. Shield throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Smith tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Shield manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Shield swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Meat Shield is winning the standup battle so far.
Shield connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Shield shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Shield moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Shield misses with a combination
and Smith moves into the clinch.
Shield goes for a takedown in the clinch but Smith prevents it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Shield has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Smith avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Smith gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Shield.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Meat Shield. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Shield cracks a nice hook into Smith's ribs.

Smith drives through and clinches with Shield against the ropes.
Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Smith is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Shield's half guard.
Smith is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Smith is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shield is just riding it out for now. Smith eventually gives up the hold.

Shield knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.

Smith looks for a takedown but Shield sprawls well.

Shield cracks Smith with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Smith takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Johnny Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Smith has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
