Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sly Fox! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alan Martin! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fox fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Martin to the ground. Fox is now in Martin's guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Martin working a defensive guard here.

Martin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Martin working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Fox has passed into half guard!
Martin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Martin pulls Fox in close to prevent any damage. Martin is looking for a triangle here but Fox uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin is looking for a sweep. Fox scores with a couple of short elbows. Martin is trying to improve his position. Fox tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fox has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Martin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fox wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Martin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Fox prevents Martin from improving his position. Fox lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Fox slips a nice elbow through Martin's hands, connecting with Martin's forehead. Martin wants to get back to full guard. Martin tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Fox has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Martin can't escape the position.
Fox putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Fox with shots to the head and body - Martin looks very uncomfortable down there. Martin is squirming around, avoiding Fox's attempts to control the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fox prevents Martin from getting the reversal. Fox takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin wants to control but Fox is having none of it. Martin gets back to half guard. Martin trying to control here.
Martin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fox pulls his head out easily. Fox wants to pass to mount but Martin is defending the position. Martin gets back to full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Martin is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fox keeping moving, preventing Martin from controlling successfully. Fox is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Martin scoring with some ground and pound. Martin looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Martin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fox is keeping the position for now. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Martin won't allow Fox to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Alan Martin will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Martin lands a jab to Fox's midsection. Martin tries to close the distance and clinch but Fox swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Fox showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Martin.

and Fox counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Martin! Fox in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Martin is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Martin wants to control but Fox is having none of it. Martin is looking to get to half guard. Fox is in the full mount, landing strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Martin tries to reverse the position but Fox maintains control. Fox tries to control but Martin wriggling away. Martin really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fox is landing with some decent strikes but Martin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Fox trying to control but he's not successful this time. Fox takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Martin regains half guard. Sly Fox overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Martin is looking for a sweep. Fox is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Martin looking for submissions off his back. Fox is looking for a kimura here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Fox is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Martin! Fox landing punches. Martin can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fox trying to control but Martin is having none of it. Martin is desperately trying to improve his position but Fox has a good base and remains in mount. Martin tries to hold on but Fox postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Martin keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Fox trying to control but he's not successful this time. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fox lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Martin working to try and regain half guard.

Sly Fox dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Fox shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Martin is trying to defend but Fox finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Martin is refusing to be controlled, as Fox sits in half guard. Martin wants to improve his position but Fox is controlling well.

Martin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Martin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Fox moves into full mount! Martin won't be happy about that! Fox connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fox gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Martin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Martin shoots in and gets a takedown into Fox's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Fox is trying to control the position but Martin postures up. Martin trying to control the position from guard on top but Fox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Martin postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. That's three minutes gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Martin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Fox is trying to keep Martin in close.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Fox manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Martin on his heels. He'll look to pass Martin's guard now, I'm sure. Fox tries to free his leg and advance position but Martin is retaining full guard. Fox wanted to stand there but Martin had control of the position. Martin has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Fox is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Martin. Martin is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fox trying to control the position but Martin is working away. Martin is looking for a sweep. Martin is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Fox is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Fox looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Martin tries to lock up and control but Fox gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Martin is trying to escape the mount.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sly Fox. I think Fox has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
