Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Darien Michaels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrew Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels shoots in but no luck this time.

Jackson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Michaels keeps moving.
Michaels tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Michaels pulls Jackson in close to his closed guard and prevents Jackson from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Andrew Jackson wasn't active enough on the ground.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Michaels shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Michaels shoots in looking for a takedown but Jackson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Michaels's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We're going to have a standup here because Darien Michaels wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Michaels bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Michaels has passed into half guard!

Jackson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Michaels pulls his head out easily.
Michaels looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jackson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Michaels shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jackson sprawls well. Jackson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Michaels gets slowly back to his feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Darien Michaels will probably get the nod.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Michaels sprawls well. Michaels wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet.

Michaels looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Michaels knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground.
Michaels is working Jackson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Michaels can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Michaels has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Jackson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Michaels should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Jackson has tightened it up now! Michaels should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
