PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kai Greene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter comes to the cage accompanied by LiL B: Beat The Odds. Kai Greene is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kai Greene!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Greene.
Greene tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Greene fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Carter drives through with a takedown into Greene's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Greene wants to stand and escape but Carter is having none of it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Carter has taken the fight to the clinch.
Greene is trying to break the clinch but Carter is controlling him.
Carter jumps guard but Greene turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Greene isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Carter stacks Greene on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Carter!

Carter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Greene knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brandon Carter will probably get the nod.

Carter tries to close the distance and clinch but Greene swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Greene throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Carter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Greene pinned against the cage. Greene gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Carter.
Greene misses with an attempted mid kick.
Carter fails with an attempt to clinch.
Carter takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Carter shoots in for a takedown but Greene shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brandon Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Carter fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Greene avoids it really well and circles away.

Carter is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Greene defends it well.
Greene wants to improve his position but Carter is controlling well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
