Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Scott Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Dela Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Peterson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Invasion of the Bodysnatcher. Dela Cruz has chosen Bebot by Black Eyed Peas as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Scott Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Juan Dela Cruz! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dela Cruz checks the leg kick. Peterson misses with a low kick. Dela Cruz shoots for a double leg takedown but Peterson sprawls well. He's pushed Dela Cruz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Dela Cruz shoots for a takedown but Peterson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Dela Cruz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Peterson pinned against the cage. Peterson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Scott Peterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Dela Cruz. Dela Cruz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Dela Cruz looks gassed! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dela Cruz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Peterson throws a leg kick but Dela Cruz checks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Peterson showed some decent athleticism there. Peterson scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Dela Cruz won't allow Peterson to pass to mount. Peterson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Peterson is looking to advance position but Dela Cruz won't allow it. Dela Cruz moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Peterson pushing down on Dela Cruz's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Peterson is nestled in close to Dela Cruz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peterson prevents Dela Cruz from improving his position. Peterson is figuring out what he wants to do next. Peterson slips a nice elbow through Dela Cruz's hands, connecting with Dela Cruz's forehead. Peterson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Peterson wants to free his trapped foot but Dela Cruz is holding on for dear life with his legs. Peterson is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dela Cruz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Peterson is taking a breather. Dela Cruz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Peterson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dela Cruz is just riding it out for now. Peterson eventually gives up the hold. Peterson controlling the action here. Dela Cruz is refusing to be controlled, as Peterson sits in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dela Cruz wants to improve his position but Peterson is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peterson wants to take a breather but Dela Cruz is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peterson controlling the pace.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Scott Peterson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Peterson swings for the body but Dela Cruz moves out of range.
Dela Cruz misses with a takedown and Peterson counters with a nice kick to the body. Dela Cruz fails with the takedown and Peterson counters with a solid body kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Peterson dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Peterson throws a sloppy head kick and Dela Cruz moves out of range easily. Juan Dela Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dela Cruz takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Dela Cruz misses with a takedown and Peterson counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Peterson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Dela Cruz with a poor takedown and Peterson makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Peterson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A decent looking body kick lands there for Peterson. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A chopping leg kick lands by Peterson. Peterson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dela Cruz.
That's one minute gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Dela Cruz. Dela Cruz tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Dela Cruz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dela Cruz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Peterson tries to buck Dela Cruz off but Dela Cruz is having none of it. Peterson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dela Cruz's best efforts. Dela Cruz wants to free his trapped foot but Peterson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Dela Cruz is thwarting Peterson's attempts to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peterson is pressing down on Dela Cruz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Peterson has his hands on Dela Cruz's head, controlling the position. Peterson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Peterson has his foot on Dela Cruz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dela Cruz works his way back into a safe position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson is trying to keep Dela Cruz in close.
Dela Cruz tries to free his leg and advance position but Peterson is retaining full guard. Peterson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dela Cruz advances to half guard. Peterson is controlling Dela Cruz's position as best he can from this difficult position. Dela Cruz is working for a submission of some sort.
Peterson moves into full guard.
Peterson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dela Cruz postures up.
Peterson is looking for a triangle but Dela Cruz pushes his legs off easily.
Dela Cruz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peterson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dela Cruz is posturing up here but Peterson has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Dela Cruz tries to roll out but it's too tight and Dela Cruz has to tap! Slick submission there by Peterson!
