Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Greve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pertti Metso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Greve! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pertti Metso! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Greve looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Greve thuds his right hand into Metso's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Metso shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Greve's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Metso accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Metso throws a big right hand that misses. Metso is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Metso wants to stand but Greve has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Greve trying to keep a closed guard but Metso is proving a slippery customer.
Greve throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Greve keeping full guard, as Metso tries to pass. Metso postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Greve is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Metso, into his guard. Greve not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Greve preventing the sweep. Greve looking to pass the guard. Greve thows a big elbow that misses. Greve trying to control but Metso is working from the bottom. Metso is trying to keep Greve in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Greve with a lazy takedown attempt so Metso counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Greve is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Metso trying to control but Greve is working from the bottom. Metso must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Metso pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Greve is keeping the position for now. Greve trying to keep a closed guard but Metso is proving a slippery customer.
Metso trying to control the position from guard on top but Greve is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Greve looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Metso showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Greve not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Metso fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Greve has his takedown stuffed and Metso counters by clinching up. Metso looking to stall.
Greve manages to break the clinch.
Greve closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Greve lands in his opponent's guard. Greve trying to control but Metso is working from the bottom. Metso is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Metso looking to hit a scissor sweep but Greve is one step ahead there. Greve is fighting to break Metso's control of his arms but Metso is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Metso wants to sweep but no luck. Greve controls from within his opponent's guard. Greve trying to control but Metso is working from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Greve accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Metso shoots in and drives through. Greve sprawls well. Greve tries to clinch but Metso is having none of it. Metso forces Greve back against the cage and clinches. Greve breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Greve stuffs the takedown. Paul Greve has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pertti Metso. Metso circles away from the clinch attempt.
Greve wants to slow Metso down by chopping away at his legs. Greve tries to clinch but Metso is having none of it. Metso slips a jab and a cross from Greve.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pertti Metso dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Greve tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Metso paws at him with a jab and circles away. Greve throws a leg kick but Metso sees it coming and checks it nicely. Greve shoots and misses and Metso counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Greve's guard now. Greve controls Metso momentarily but Metso frees himself. Greve keeping moving, preventing Metso from controlling successfully. Metso stands up from Greve's guard - Metso perhaps looking for a knockout. Greve just misses with a punch to the body.
Greve closes the distance and clinches up with Metso, looking for a takedown. Greve pushes Metso against the cage but Metso circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Metso throws a series of punches but Greve moves out of range. Metso ducks right into an uppercut from Greve. Paul Greve seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Greve ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Metso moves away. Greve misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Metso shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Metso showed some decent athleticism there. Metso is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Greve tries to get to full guard but Metso has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Greve manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Metso should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Greve looking to hit a scissor sweep but Metso is one step ahead there. Greve controlling Metso's posture. Metso preventing the sweep. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Greve is on top in guard.
Greve controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Metso can do anything to dispel that myth. Metso has his hands on Greve's head, controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Metso working for a triangle but Greve defends it easily.
Metso looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Greve passes into side control.
Metso throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Metso shoots in and bounces Greve off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Metso preventing the sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Greve keeping full guard, as Metso tries to pass. Metso showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Greve looking to control.
Metso tries to stand but Greve is controlling from the bottom. Greve pulls Metso in to control the position. Metso postures up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Greve connects with the punch. A jab from Greve finds it's way through Metso's defenses.
Metso is rocked! Greve connects with a nice cross there... Metso is looking wobbly and Greve recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Metso to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Greve jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
