Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Kaphwan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim Kaphwan is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Dos Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kim Kaphwan! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kaphwan closes the distance looking to clinch so Dos Santos counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kaphwan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Kaphwan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dos Santos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kaphwan tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dos Santos lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dos Santos looking to sit in guard and control but Kaphwan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Dos Santos looking for a guillotine here but Kaphwan defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kaphwan wants to stand but Dos Santos has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Dos Santos uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Dos Santos fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kaphwan to the ground. Dos Santos is now in Kaphwan's guard. Dos Santos loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Dos Santos throwing strikes from guard but Kaphwan blocks nicely. Kaphwan wants to stand and escape but Dos Santos is having none of it. Dos Santos wants to control from the top but Kaphwan keeps moving.

He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kaphwan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kaphwan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Dos Santos trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Kaphwan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dos Santos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kaphwan has managed to get both his arms back between Dos Santos's legs - danger averted. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dos Santos controls Kaphwan momentarily but Kaphwan frees himself. Kaphwan trying to control but Dos Santos is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kaphwan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dos Santos looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dos Santos looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dos Santos! Kaphwan is looking to reverse the position. Dos Santos in side control, throwing shots but Kaphwan defends. Dos Santos is trying to ground and pound but Kaphwan uses the momentary lack of control by Dos Santos to regain half guard. Kaphwan regains full guard. Nicely done. Kaphwan keeping full guard, as Dos Santos tries to pass. Dos Santos trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kaphwan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kaphwan manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Kaphwan jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Dos Santos manages to avoid the submission attempt. Kaphwan tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dos Santos is looking for a sweep. Dos Santos throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
You can see the frustration on Dos Santos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dos Santos throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kaphwan was covering up waiting for the punch and Dos Santos finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kaphwan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kaphwan is on top in guard.
Kaphwan wanted to stand there but Dos Santos had control of the position. Dos Santos tries to land a sweep but no joy. Dos Santos thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Kaphwan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Dos Santos throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Kaphwan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dos Santos has his foot on Kaphwan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kaphwan works his way back into a safe position though. Dos Santos tries to land a sweep but no joy. Dos Santos manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Kaphwan drives through with a takedown into Dos Santos's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Dos Santos punching from the bottom. Dos Santos has his feet on Kaphwan's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Dos Santos drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dos Santos working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Kaphwan regains half guard, as Dos Santos was trying to land strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kaphwan tries to roll over but Dos Santos keeps him under control. Dos Santos thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kaphwan's head. Kaphwan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kaphwan. Dos Santos throws an elbow that misses. Kaphwan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dos Santos's guard. Nice move by Kaphwan! Dos Santos is pulling down on Kaphwan's head. It's preventing any offense from Kaphwan, at least for the moment. Kaphwan postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Dos Santos wants to sweep here but Kaphwan controlling him for the moment. Kaphwan wants to stand but Dos Santos is controlling his posture from full guard. Kaphwan trying to control but Dos Santos is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dos Santos shoots in looking for a takedown. Kaphwan tries to sprawl out of it but Dos Santos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kaphwan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kaphwan darts in trying to clinch and Dos Santos counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kaphwan!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kaphwan is in a horrible position here. Dos Santos smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Dos Santos has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kaphwan's face.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dos Santos breaks from Kaphwan's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Kaphwan is rocked! Dos Santos unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Kaphwan wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Dos Santos celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
