Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Carter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adam Pearce! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Pearce keeping full guard, as Carter tries to pass. Pearce is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Pearce had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Carter is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pearce Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Carter's back instead. Carter turns into Pearce and is now in his guard.
Carter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pearce is keeping the position for now. Pearce can't keep his opponent in guard - Carter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carter passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pearce! Carter scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Pearce?

Carter has control of Pearce's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pearce regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Pearce is trying to escape the mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pearce regains half guard. Pearce is pressing down on Carter's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Carter is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pearce throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Carter looking to pass the guard. Pearce throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Carter escapes and throws Pearce's legs to the side, diving into side control! Carter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pearce, who protects the arm well. Carter is breathing heavily. Carter decides to stand back up. Carter steps back and let's Pearce get back to his feet. Pearce bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pearce has hold of Carter's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Carter seems comfortable defending it but Pearce has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Carter is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Carter is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Pearce couldn't care less - he's delighted!
