The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balls closes the distance looking to clinch and Petkovic counters with a nice double leg into side control. Balls won't be happy with that. Petkovic working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Petkovic drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Petkovic jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Petkovic stands and throws Balls's legs to the side, diving into side control.
