Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jesse Grant!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Franklyn Lucas and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant shoots in but Makunouchi avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Makunouchi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Grant as he avoids it easily.
Grant gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
so Makunouchi counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Grant is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Grant keeping full guard, as Makunouchi tries to pass.
Grant looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Makunouchi won't allow Grant to sweep him here.
Grant can't keep his opponent in guard - Makunouchi advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grant flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Makunouchi is trying to control the action in half guard but Grant is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Grant is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Makunouchi is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Grant scores with a couple of nice shots.
Grant drops an elbow to the side of Makunouchi's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Grant not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Makunouchi is breathing heavily.

Grant slips a nice elbow through Makunouchi's hands, connecting with Makunouchi's forehead.

Makunouchi has hold of Grant's hands but Grant slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Grant looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Grant scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Grant looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Makunouchi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Grant passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Makunouchi!
