Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nolan McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jeremy Cole has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jeremy Cole seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeremy Cole! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nolan McDonald! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cole throws a low kick but McDonald avoids it. Cole drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. McDonald looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cole is one step ahead there. McDonald controls Cole momentarily but Cole frees himself. McDonald throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round. McDonald looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Cole has picked McDonald up and slammed him! McDonald can't keep hold of the triangle and Cole manages to pass to side control! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McDonald is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. McDonald tries to kick Cole off but Cole keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Cole is taking a breather. McDonald says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. McDonald trying to control but Cole postures up.
McDonald might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cole kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Cole wants to advance to full mount but McDonald doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. McDonald uses the cage to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cole feints and as McDonald raises his hands in defense, Cole changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Cole stopping the sweep attempt from McDonald. McDonald looks gassed! McDonald is controlling Cole's posture. McDonald is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. McDonald pulls Cole in close to prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cole avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cole postures up.
Cole pushes down on McDonald's leg and manages to get into half guard. Cole performing his best blanket impression for a moment. McDonald preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. McDonald has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cole is working away from the top position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cole controlling the action here. McDonald is holding on to half guard well. McDonald tries to roll over but Cole keeps him under control. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Cole misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McDonald is looking to clinch. Cole looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McDonald is fending him off so far but Cole persists. Nope, McDonald circles away and we're back to standing. McDonald scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. McDonald performing his best blanket impression for a moment. McDonald working Cole over with strikes. McDonald passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Cole! McDonald gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. McDonald looks to land a combination but Cole avoids it well. Nice sprawl there from Cole as McDonald shoots in.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cole doesn't succeed with the takedown and McDonald counters with a takedown into side control. McDonald staying calm. McDonald tries to move into full mount but can't pass Cole's legs. Cole is trying to get back to half guard. McDonald wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cole keeps working. Cole holds on to McDonald's head and controls the position momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McDonald prevents Cole from escaping the position. McDonald decides to take the fight back to the feet. McDonald lands a nice looking body kick. McDonald fails to land with a series of punches.
Cole moves into range and clinches up with McDonald. McDonald throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Cole tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Cole. That's going to take a lot out of him. McDonald escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McDonald fails with the takedown and Cole counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McDonald looks like he's trying to stand up.
McDonald won't allow Cole to pass to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McDonald looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cole in particular looking to stall. McDonald is positioning himself well to prevent Cole advancing to mount. McDonald makes his way to full guard. A much better position for McDonald. McDonald controls Cole momentarily but Cole frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. McDonald is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. McDonald has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cole can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. McDonald kicks Cole off and gets to his feet. McDonald clinches with his opponent.
with the fighters clinched against the cage, McDonald creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. McDonald throws a wild body kick that Cole sees coming a mile off. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McDonald scores with a takedown into Cole's guard. McDonald tries to stand but Cole is controlling from the bottom. McDonald trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nolan McDonald showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Cole tries for a takedown but McDonald circles away easily and McDonald counters with a shoot takedown. Cole fights it but they end up in guard. McDonald gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. McDonald tries for a takedown but Cole circles away easily and Cole counters with a nice uppercut. Cole gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and McDonald decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cole's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cole wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and McDonald is now in half guard. McDonald wants to take a breather but Cole is having none of it. McDonald thows a huge punch but Cole dodges it nicely.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Cole misses with an attempted mid kick.
McDonald misses with a takedown attempt and Cole holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. McDonald escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Nolan McDonald has got the better of the ground game so far. Cole seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

And that's the end of the fight! Nolan McDonald comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well McDonald has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
