Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andreas Bastos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Rollins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bastos comes into the arena with D-Nox & Beckers - One Shot (Flame On Fire Remix) blaring out of the sound system. Andreas Bastos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Andreas Bastos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Rollins!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bastos tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rollins swivels and escapes.
Bastos ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Rollins manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bastos on his heels. He'll look to pass Bastos's guard now, I'm sure.
Rollins is pushing down on Bastos's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bastos is fighting to maintain full guard but Rollins has managed to sneak the leg through.
Bastos is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Bastos working for a triangle but Rollins defends it easily.
Rollins trying to control the position from guard on top but Bastos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Rollins wants to stand and escape but instead Bastos has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Bastos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Bastos has gone for a leg lock! Rollins slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bastos's guard.
Rollins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bastos is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rollins defends well.

Bastos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rollins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Bastos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Rollins tries to free his leg and advance position but Bastos is retaining full guard.

Bastos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rollins defends it easily.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Stephen Rollins hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Horrible takedown by Bastos or perhaps it was just good defense by Rollins which made him look bad.

Bastos closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bastos is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Andreas Bastos will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Bastos shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rollins pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bastos back to the ropes. Rollins follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Andreas Bastos has been cut.
Rollins is looking to clinch but Bastos is avoiding it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rollins looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rollins tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bastos sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rollins somewhat.
A jab lands there for Rollins.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bastos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bastos is looking to stand up but Rollins won't let him.

Bastos postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rollins is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bastos, into his guard.
Andreas Bastos overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rollins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bastos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rollins has managed to get both his arms back between Bastos's legs - danger averted.
Rollins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Bastos wants to sweep here but Rollins controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Stephen Rollins wasn't active enough on the ground.

Bastos fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rollins avoids it really well and circles away.
Rollins moves in looking to clinch but Bastos pushes him off.

Bastos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rollins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bastos will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Stephen Rollins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Bastos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rollins's waist but Rollins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bastos off to one side.

Bastos throws a strike but Rollins rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Bastos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rollins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rollins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rollins is looking to stand up but Bastos won't let him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bastos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rollins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bastos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andreas Bastos.
I think Bastos has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
