Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sagan moves into the clinch.
Joe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Joe is landing with some decent strikes but Sagan is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Joe tries to close the distance and clinch but Sagan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Joe thows a huge punch but Sagan dodges it nicely.
Joe winds up and cracks Sagan with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Joe is keen to just control but Sagan is a slippery customer.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Joe connects with a nice short shot to Sagan's temple.

Sagan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Joe has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sagan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Average Joe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sagan has hold of one of Joe's legs. Joe is fighting the takedown attempt but Sagan gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Joe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sagan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sagan drops back looking for a leg! Joe is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Joe manages to kick Sagan off! Sagan jumps back into Joe's guard.
Joe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sagan can do to turn this around?

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sagan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Sagan passes Joe's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Joe tries to kick Sagan off but Sagan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Sagan looks to land a strike but Joe avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sagan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sagan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Sagan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Joe keeps working.
And that's the end of the fight!
Josh Sagan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Joe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
