Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Henderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scon Bott!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bott pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bott looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Henderson is fending him off so far but Bott persists. Nope, Henderson circles away and we're back to standing.
Henderson shoots for a takedown but Bott saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Joe Henderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bott shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Henderson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bott napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Henderson trying to control the position but Bott is working away.
The ground and pound from Henderson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Henderson tries for a kimura but Bott is defending well.

Henderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bott is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Henderson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Henderson's back!

Bott is stalling here. Henderson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bott seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Henderson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Henderson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Henderson throws a strike aimed at the side of Bott's head but Bott avoids it well.
Henderson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Henderson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bott is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Bott tries to improve position but can't.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bott is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Henderson asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Bott tries to strike but it doesn't land.

Henderson tries to score with some ground and pound. Bott controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Henderson lands a few punches from side control.
Bott tries to improve position but can't.

Henderson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bott knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Bott wants to control but Henderson postures up.
Bott tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Henderson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Henderson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Henderson lands a decent elbow from side control.
Bott is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Henderson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bott to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Henderson looks for a takedown but Bott sprawls well.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Bott tries to clinch up.
No luck for Henderson with that takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Henderson.
Bott tries a head kick but it misses.
Bott leaves Henderson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Bott shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Henderson as he jumps to the side.

Bott is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Henderson has escaped the position, nice work there.
Henderson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Henderson is not content to let Bott control the position.
Bott wants to get back to his feet.

Henderson is pressing down on Bott's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Bott passes easily into side control. Nice work.

The referee asks Bott politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bott prefers to stall for the moment though.

Bott slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Henderson.
Henderson is looking to get to half guard.
Henderson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Bott is looking to take a break and control but Henderson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bott is looking to stall here but Henderson recovers full guard.
Henderson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Bott prevents Henderson from getting back to his feet.

Bott is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Scon Bott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Bott has managed to clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Henderson.
Henderson jumps guard but Bott stands there with Henderson around his waist. Henderson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bott is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Henderson is defending well for now.
Henderson tries to pull guard but Bott forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.
Bott is looking for a takedown.
Bott tries to score a body lock takedown but Henderson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Bott's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bott has a takedown stuffed.
Joe Henderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scon Bott.

Henderson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Henderson tries for a takedown but Bott sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Henderson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bott sprawls well initially but Henderson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Henderson is working for a submission of some sort.
Bott wants to get back to his feet.
Henderson is looking to advance position but Bott won't allow it.
Bott is staying active underneath Henderson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Bott wants to control but Henderson is keeping busy.

Henderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Bott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Bott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Henderson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bott avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Henderson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Henderson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bott is trying to keep Henderson in close.
Henderson trying to control but Bott is working from the bottom.

Henderson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Henderson throws a big elbow that misses.
Bott keeping moving, preventing Henderson from controlling successfully.
Bott controls Henderson momentarily but Henderson frees himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Henderson chips away with some ground and pound.

Henderson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Bott wants to stand and escape but Henderson is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Joe Henderson showed his dominance in that final round.
