The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Do misses the jab.
Do lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Assassin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Do throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Assassin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Do circles away.

and Do counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Canadian Assassin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Canadian Assassin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Assassin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Do as he avoids it easily.
Do stuffs the takedown.
Assassin shoots in looking for a takedown but Do manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Assassin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Do cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Do makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Assassin is defended easily by Do.
Assassin dives in and grabs Do's left leg, looking for a takedown. Do pushes down on Assassin's head and hops out.
Assassin is breathing heavily.

and Do counters with a nice uppercut.
Assassin on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Do gets a clinch.
Do lands a good knee to the midsection. Assassin won't want to take too many of those.

Do throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Assassin.

Do moves into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A knee to the head by Do.
Do is pressed up against the cage. Assassin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Do down to the mat. Do avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Assassin shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Do scores with a jab to the head.
Do is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Assassin had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Assassin closes the distance and clinches up with Do, looking for a takedown. Assassin pushes Do against the cage but Do circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A nice inside leg kick there by Do. That's going to slow Assassin down.

and Do counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Do feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Assassins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Do lands with a thumping leg kick.
Do moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

and Do counters with a left and a right that stings Assassin.

Assassin is rocked!

Do takes the fight into the clinch.
Oh Assassin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Do has Assassin pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Assassin is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Do - that's hurt Assassin badly! Oh, another knee lands and Assassin is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Assassin doesn't seem to be complaining.
