PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Reder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Too Fast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reder comes into the arena with ACDC - TNT blaring out of the sound system. Fast has chosen I'm On it - Jon Connor as his entrance music. Too Fast will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dennis Reder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Too Fast! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fast shoots in for a double leg but Reder sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Fast with a lazy takedown attempt and Reder counters with a nice body shot. Fast defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Reder. Reder moves out of range as Fast strikes. Fast shoots in for a takedown but Reder shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Dennis Reder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Too Fast. Reder moves in looking to clinch but Fast pushes him off. Reder displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fast. Reder has closed the distance and engaged Fast in a clinch.
Fast can't break the clinch.
Reder lands a body shot. Fast looks gassed! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Reder throws an elbow but it misses.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Reder creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Reder lands a nice shot to the body. Reder works on Fast's body with a couple of short punches. Reder pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. A shot in the inside from Reder. A right hand to the body from Reder.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reder softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Reder lands a hook that snaps the head of Fast backwards. Reder utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. A nice right hand lands inside from Reder. Reder stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Reder is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Fast can't fight it off and eventually Reder manages to take the fight to the floor. Fast looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Reder with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Reder with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Reder trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Reder throws a big elbow that misses. Reder scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Reder is looking to work some ground and pound but Fast has wrist control. Reder missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reder scoring with some ground and pound. Reder throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fast works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Reder connects with a couple of short punches. Reder lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Reder throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Reder controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Fast not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reder accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Reder distracts Fast with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Reder working some strikes from top position. Fast can't keep his opponent in guard - Reder advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Reder connects with a nice short shot to Fast's temple. Reder wants to free his trapped foot but Fast is holding on for dear life with his legs. Reder landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Reder scoring with strikes to the body and head. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Reder lands a nice short elbow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Reder connects with a nice short shot to Fast's temple. Reder frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reder lands a nice shot to the head. Reder lands a big shot there that rocks Fast but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Fast is bucking up trying to escape but Reder cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reder lands a nice shot to the head. Reder with good strikes from the mount here! Reder pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Reder loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Fast scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Reder land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Reder stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dennis Reder! Dennis Reder gave a mention to Hilo Nutrition (video proof) & Laundry 95 % in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
