Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Marks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matthew Marks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charles Anderson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marks stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Marks wants it to stay on the feet. Marks throws a body punch but Anderson moves out of range. Marks scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Charles Anderson has been cut. Anderson shoots in and drives through. Marks sprawls well. Marks is trying hard to land a takedown here. Anderson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Anderson swats away the attempt to clinch by Marks. Marks clinches up with Anderson and pushes him back against the cage. Anderson tries to circle away but Marks has him pinned against the cage. Anderson drags the fight down to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action! Marks is looking to stand up but Anderson won't let him. Anderson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Marks has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Anderson is proving hard to escape from. Marks trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Marks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Anderson on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson trying to control the position.
Marks slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Marks trying to stand up but can't free himself from Anderson's guard. Marks wants to control from the top but Anderson keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Matthew Marks wasn't doing enough on the ground. Anderson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Matthew Marks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Anderson. Anderson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Anderson looks gassed! Marks looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson stands up and beckons Marks to join him on the feet. Anderson has a takedown stuffed. Marks wants to clinch up but Anderson keeps it at a distance.

Anderson shoots in looking for a takedown but Marks manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Anderson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Marks closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Anderson to the mat! Anderson manages to get full guard. Anderson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Marks passes easily into side control. Nice work. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Marks working away. Marks controls the position. Marks grinds an elbow into Anderson's temple. Marks decides to take the fight back to the feet. Matthew Marks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marks looks for the body kick but Anderson saw that one coming.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marks scoring well with a low kick there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marks scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Marks tries a head kick but it misses.
Marks tries to bum rush Anderson with a series of wild strikes but Anderson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The fight stays on the outside here - Marks looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Anderson gets tackled into the cage by Marks. Marks maintains the clinch. Anderson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Anderson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Anderson throws a right and a left that Marks avoids nicely. Marks fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Anderson, pushing him back against the cage. Marks tries to score a body lock takedown but Anderson shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Marks gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matthew Marks dominated that round. The cut man is working on Charles Anderson's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Anderson tries for a takedown but Marks sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Marks moves in looking to clinch but Anderson pushes him off. Anderson swats away the attempt to clinch by Marks. Sloppy strikes from Marks. Those never looked like landing. Marks tries to clinch but Anderson is having none of it. Anderson shoots and misses and Marks counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Anderson is lucky that one didn't land flush. Marks tests Anderson's chin there with a solid looking shot. Marks lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Marks fails in his attempt to clinch. Anderson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marks swivels and escapes. Matthew Marks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Anderson. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Anderson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Marks throws a sloppy head kick and Anderson moves out of range easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson shoots in but Marks avoids the takedown attempt easily. Marks is looking to take this fight into the clinch. A slapping leg kick lands for Marks.
Anderson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Marks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Anderson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Anderson throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marks takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Anderson trying to control but Marks postures up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Marks in particular looking to stall. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Anderson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Marks to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Marks shrugs it off. Marks gets back to half guard. Marks tries to clinch up. Marks walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Anderson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Anderson misses with the combination.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Marks as he avoids it easily. Marks tries to clinch but Anderson moves out of range. Anderson avoids the head kick by Marks.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Marks throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Anderson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Marks can pounce on him.

Marks tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Marks leaves Anderson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Matthew Marks is winning the standup battle so far. Marks lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Marks. Marks tries to clinch up but Anderson circles away and keeps his distance. Marks misses with a wild combination.
Anderson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Marks manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Marks has his feet on Anderson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Anderson trying to control but Marks is working from the bottom. Marks utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Marks is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Anderson is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marks is working an open guard so Anderson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Marks moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Anderson throws an overhand right that lands on Marks's shoulder, as Marks tries to avoid the shot. Anderson is looking to clinch but Marks is avoiding it.
Marks is looking to clinch. Marks shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Marks stalling away here and it's allowed Anderson to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Marks wants to control from the top but Anderson keeps moving. Anderson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Anderson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Matthew Marks just wasn't active enough. Marks clinches up against the cage. Charles Anderson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Matthew Marks is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marks breaks from the clinch.
