The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thiago takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Canedo stuffs the takedown.
Canedo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Thiago, pushing him back against the cage.
Thiago avoids the elbow strike from Canedo, against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Canedo.
Canedo throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Thiago pulls guard successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thiago lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Canedo!
Canedo is desperately trying to improve his position but Thiago has a good base and remains in mount.

Canedo wants to hold on but Thiago pushes him away.
Canedo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Thiago lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Canedo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thiago on the ground.
Canedo is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Canedo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Canedo tries to get out of the position.
Thiago throwing strikes but Canedo bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.
Thiago pushes a forearm under Canedo's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Canedo is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
