The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stunza is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

It looks like Blasting Houston has been cut.
Houston tries to clinch up

and Stunza counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Houston 's guard now.
Stunza has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Renars Stunza has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Stunza avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stunza does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Houston throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Houston throws a head kick but Stunza moves out of range.
Stunza lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Houston moves in looking to clinch but Stunza pushes him off.

Stunza slips a jab and a cross from Houston .
Stunza wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Houston looks gassed!

Stunza shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Stunza seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Renars Stunza wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Houston ducks straight into an uppercut from Stunza and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Houston manages to regain guard straight away.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stunza slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Stunza slows the pace down.
Houston gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Stunza takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Stunza's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Houston tries to buck Stunza off but he can't manage it.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Stunza fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Houston goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Stunza circles away from the clinch attempt.

Stunza throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Blasting Houston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Houston tries a head kick but it misses.

Stunza shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stunza is taking a breather. Houston says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Renars Stunza just wasn't active enough.
Stunza on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Houston . Houston obviously looking to wear him down.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stunza is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Houston 's half guard.
Well, if Stunza is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Houston is breathing heavily.

Stunza rushes Houston and presses him up against the cage.
Stunza stalls.
Stunza lands a hook to the side of the head.

Stunza creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Houston with a big uppercut! Houston tries to clinch up but Stunza pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Houston to the mat! Houston covers up and Stunza unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
