PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kangeroo Poo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Stump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stump has chosen Drop the Bombshell as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jordan Stump!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poo doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Stump counters with a nice double leg into side control. Poo won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poo is looking for a sweep.
Stump in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Poo is trying to improve his position.
Poo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Stump's best efforts.
Stump is thwarting Poo's attempts to control the position.
Poo is in trouble now - Stump has advanced to mount!

Poo sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Stump wants to free his trapped foot but Poo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Poo is pressing down on Stump's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Stump lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Stump drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stump jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Poo is looking for a triangle here but Stump uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Stump decides to stand up, so the ref orders Poo to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stump closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Stump is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Stump manages to break the clinch.

Stump closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Poo is looking to get back to full guard here but Stump has managed to pass to side control instead.
Poo tries to bench press Stump off him but Stump keeps the position.

Stump advances to mount.

Stump looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Stump has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Poo's face.
Stump connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Stump cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Stump pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Poo is trying to escape the mount.
Poo slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Poo is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stump trying to control the pace.
Stump lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stump misses with a two punch combination.

Poo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stump on his heels. He'll look to pass Stump's guard now, I'm sure.
Stump seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Poo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stump manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Poo has Stump in his guard.
Stump working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Stump controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Stump is pushing down on Poo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Poo is fighting to maintain full guard but Stump has managed to sneak the leg through.

Stump is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Poo looking for submissions off his back.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Poo is in trouble now - Stump has advanced to mount!

Poo tries to improve his position but instead Stump has taken his back!

Poo is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Stump.

Stump is working for a rear naked choke. Poo is not defending it well and Stump has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Poo refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Poo's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jordan Stump!
After winning the bout, Jordan Stump thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
