Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Antony Poddychi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlad Sevchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antony Poddychi could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Vlad Sevchenko's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Antony Poddychi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Sevchenko!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poddychi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sevchenko dives in and grabs Poddychi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Poddychi pushes down on Sevchenko's head and hops out.

Sevchenko throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Poddychi was covering up waiting for the punch and Sevchenko finishes the takedown easily into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Sevchenko won't allow Poddychi to sweep him here.
Sevchenko makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Poddychi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Poddychi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sevchenko's guard.

and Poddychi counters with a good, hard body kick but Sevchenko shrugs it off.

Sevchenko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
